Jewish Poor Handmaid Sister Aloysia Lowenfels, PHJC, was determined to become a Catholic Sister as a young lady, something her parents were opposed to. Eventually, she moved to Frankfurt, Germany and became a nurse in a clinic. There, she encountered the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ Sisters, eventually becoming a Catholic. As persecution of the Jews grew in Europe in under Nazi rule, she moved to the Netherlands, became a PHJC Sister, and continued doing God's work.

In July of 1942, Sister Aloysia was arrested by the Nazis, and taken to Auschwitz. On August 9, 1942, at age 27, she was murdered by the Nazis.

This lecture highlights the life and work of a brave, young woman who listened attentively to the Spirit, let go of fear, and followed God's path for her despite grave dangers.
